Sat. Aug. 7 (10am-2pm) Low Cost Vaccine & Microchip Clinic at spcaLA’s South Bay Pet Adoption Center! The clinic will offer rabies vaccinations and microchipping for cats and dogs; DHPP and Bordetella vaccinations for dogs; and FVRCP and Leukemia vaccinations for cats. The fee for microchips at the clinic is $25 for cats and dogs. Rabies vaccinations are $5 for cats and dogs. DHPP, FVRCP and Leukemia vaccinations are $15 and Bordetella vaccinations are $10. Sat. & Sun. (10am-5pm) August 7-8 LA Pet Fair! The Los Angeles Pet Fair is a collaboration of Southern California's largest pet expos all on the same weekend at the Pomona Fairplex/ Los Angeles County Fairgrounds, August 7-8 2010.
All four shows are operated independently but in conjunction with each other to bring you one giant animal exposition the same weekend, in the same location, and at the same time!
At L.A. Pet Fair you will be given the opportunity to visit the world of aquatics at the APEX-Aquarium and Pond Expo, see and buy rare and exotic reptiles and amphibians at the Reptile Super Show and new products, education, amazing wildlife, pet adoptions, dogs, cats, horses and more at Pet Expo USA. Sun. Aug. 15 (9:30am-2pm) 5th Annual Pet Fair in the Park. The Surf City Animal Response Team (SCART) will be holding their 5th Annual Pet Fair in the Park. All proceeds from this event go directly into supporting our organization and allowing us to respond, train and educate the public. Last year there were approximately 50 booths set up and 500+ people in attendance. In 2007 SCART responded with personnel and donations to the California wildfires in Orange County, all of which was made possible by donations received from the fair. Sat. Aug. 21 (Pup activities start at 5:10 and game starts at 7:10) BARK IN THE PARK AT DODGER STADIUM! Bring your dog to the ballpark and cheer on the Dodgers as they take on the Cincinnati Reds! Sat. Sept. 18 Puppy Mill Awareness Day. Sponsored by Last Chance For Animals, the Puppy Mill Awareness Day festival will include keynote speakers, animal advocacy and welfare education booths, as well as vendors, live entertainment and activities for children. Sun. Sept. 19 (7:30am-2:30pm) 2nd Annual Surf City Surf Dog Event! Last year’s inaugural event was a blast! Join us as pooches will be able to ‘hang 20’ in surfing competitions and strut their stuff in a variety of dog-gone fun activities and contests while raising funds for animal welfare organizations. There are plenty of exciting activities planned for dogs that prefer to keep all four paws on dry land including the Cowabunga Costume Contest, a 1 or 2 mile Woofin’ Walk and the Hot Diggity Dog Expo! $5 of your entry fee for the Surf Dog Competition, the Woofin’ Walk or the Cowabunga Costume Contest will directly benefit Coastal German Shepherd Rescue, Huntington Dog Beach, Orange Co.
